Roofing Systems and Wall Frames
With time, a major factor in construction today, Portaccomm offers a revolutionary and unique steel framed building system that is sure to impress. In our manufacturing facility, coils of steel are formed into steel studs/Plates/Noggins etc. All automatically sized, punched, dimpled and notched. Eliminating the need to buy prefabricated walls, or stud and plate bundles. Therefore saving time and labour on installation.
Significant features are that the studs are dimpled and notched so that they are easily screwed together. The dimples allow the screws to be recessed; neither clamping nor drilling is required. The use of jigs is not required, because the roll former produces pieces, which joined together, make a perfectly square form. Dimensions for a wall, ceiling or roof section are entered into a computer which is programmed the machine to cut to specific lengths. The program also generates a printout, or footprint. Marking is not necessary since the roll former is fitted with a high quality inkjet printer, which in turn not only prints the name but the specific part name/number directly to the cord/brace/stud/noggin/lintel/wall plate thus allowing for easy assembly.
Construction Benefits
Cost effective: Producing frames in the factory reduces time and labour on site. Cut to length material reduces in-field cuts waste up to near zero.
Easy to install: All frames are 89mm or 150mm @ .75 steel, fully assembled or kit form, all numbered and supplied with shop drawings for ease of erection. All parts are dimpled, notched and pre-punched screw holes to enable ease of assembly. Framing members are manufactured with pre-punched holes for running piping and electrical wiring, minimizing preparation work for other trades.
Uniform quality: Steel materials are manufactured to strict standards of strength and consistency. Engineered to Australian standards and quality assured to ISO 9001:2000.
Strong and lightweight: Due to the “C” type section G350 or G550 (high tensile) steel utilized for studs and tracks the strength is second to none and taking into consideration steel framing can only weigh one-third as much as traditional products.
Easy to modify: Being that the product is steel; any last minute changes can be done on site.
Design flexibility: Before production commences, a full set of construction drawings are produced by the use of software, then checked via a site visit.
Insulation conformity: All frames are 89mm and with the new insulation Australia design rules pending for 2007, they will be compliant.
